Grilling Woods
Northeast
Grilling Woods are produced and packaged in Brooks, Maine using only wood
harvested by hand by local woodcutters and farmers. Our wood comes fresh from small woodlots and
family farms in the nearby rural areas of coastal and central Maine. The wood is then sawn, chunked and chipped
using pure oils—no diesel or hazardous oil. The wood is then dried, packaged
and shipped directly from our farms to your home, restaurant, food service or
retail location. Our truly satisfied customers
can be found in all 50 US states as well as Canada.
Our
competitors’ grilling planks are just like boards from a lumber yard cut rectangular
to fit the grill. What’s really
happening is that these woods are cut on the long grain of the wood. Our
Organic Natural Ovals are so much different.
Think about it: the trunk of a
tree is made up of long tubular cells that go from the roots to the branches
carrying water and nutrients to all parts of the tree. Clearly, the distinctive flavors of each wood
species are contained in these cells. Our
oval planks are sliced skillfully across said cells and the result is the slow
release of amazing wood flavors into your meats, fish, vegetables and baked
goods as they cook on your grill or broil in your oven. The taste is truly incredible—and fat/carbohydrate/cholesterol
free! We can bet that you’ll love our
planks, and our prices, too!
Don’t
you worry about us cutting down all Maine’s trees: Maine is the most heavily forested state in
America with more standing trees now than in the year 1900. The
state’s long tradition of sustainable harvest practices have deep roots in the
families who own many of the small woodlots that make up a large portion of
Maine woodlands. For these families, their woodlands serve as living
income producers for a lifetime. The trees supplement the family
earnings, contribute to their college funds, retirement accounts, and rainy day
savings. You can support Maine’s farmers TODAY by
purchasing our woods here.
Our
Northeast Grilling Woods play an important role in the process by providing a
premium market for specialty trees that have to be harvested in a special
way. The trees our farms harvest are naturally organic wild trees. These
are not chemically-treated plantation trees of the industrial forest. Our
trees are tailored to be a certain size and shape and must be harvested by
hand. For the wellbeing of our consumers as well as our earth, our
farmers are required to use all natural oils in their harvesting. Unmistakably,
mechanical harvesting can excessively damage the trees and the fragile land.
We invite you to enjoy the
incredible flavor of our Maine-grown grilling and smoking woods.
Enjoy!!
